Perfect size, rattles a bit.
Fits neatly in the centre of an MPSv1 style 4 or MPSv2 style 3 pommel insert, a 10-32 screw fits it perfectly. The D-ring moves freely and rattles a lot, but a short length of 2mm silicone hose fits easily into the gap and stops it rattling without making it difficult to move.
Great shiny D-ring
This D-ring does it's job great, but I find it to be much better if you roll a bit of tape and stuff it in the empty space where the ring attaches to the mount, so it quiets the 'jingle'. Also, I have to say that the picture is not too accurate because it shows the ring and the mount to be very plain, but it is really like a nickel finish shine, very beautiful. I was going to tap and drill mine, but I ended up just putting it under my retention thumbscrew with a small spring also under the mount, and that makes it hardly move and is almost completely quiet. And just a side note, if you are planning on wearing your saber, with the blade in, I recommend not mounting this to the pommel, unless you are very tall or have a short blade, as the tip of the blade will drag on the ground.
Nice addition. A bit loud.
I am using this on insert style 7. I put this in the center of the insert. I used a 4-40 tap and used a 4-40 button head (not one from here, but some red anodized ones I bought elsewhere years ago). The button head fills the hole in the ring. However you have to center the ring so the button head is centered. I then used a 4-40 lock nut to secure it. Trying to figure out how to quiet the D-ring.
D-ring
Very good product... I tapped mine and adden a nut to be safe, good size best secured in middle of pommel insert, hangs well *****
