The photon blade in 7/8 has amazing light diffusion naturally even without a film. Feels almost a bit more steady than the normal midgrade and lasted through more battles. Looks great sanded.
Green is the new Blue
7/8ths never looked so good! I was always more of a Transwhite blade person. I like the look of washed out colors more and hate dust particles in the blade which is hard to clean if you have diffusion film which gives the dust different layers to cling to! However, you'll want some kind of diffuser and/or dual diffusion with these for the best results. Works best with blue LEDs and gives you a very unique green. Kind of a Mountain Dew Green. Great to give your blue sabers second life, but also you can go longer! Typically, 7/8 inch sabers necessitate shorter blades because the light aperture is smaller. Less light = less bright = shorter effective blade. I used to only go long with 1" sabers and never really used bullet tips because they didn't light as well as round tips. Photon really is a game changer, but you gotta love green. Neopixel is getting all the attention and it's a shame that not everyone has tried photon yet. Especially great bang for the buck.
