I was attempting to build a KR pixel stick setup with an orange blade and this one falls short in that arena. In a Tri-cree setup perhaps the bare tube with rolled film might work but once you insert a white diffuser tube and foam this goes from an okay amber to a creamsickle, before attempting to light it up. Running the color white for brightness sake also adds to the problem, washing it out further. What I ended up doing on this particular day blade setup is to order some 3mil orange film wrap and apply it 3 times over a built up roll of clear film on top of the thickwalled diffuser tube. All of this gets inserted into the tube with the white foam and pixel stick inserted at the core. This yielded a pretty good approximation for an orange blade. I am able to run white in it, or one can go with yellow on the LED which pulls amperage on two colors. The amber tip for this works okay but is on the yellow side. I used a drill press to drill out the tip.

Great look and works like a charm with the mirrored bullet tip. The tri-Cree LED lights it up very well. I put several wraps of cellophane in it to try the look, but decided just to use it as-is. I bought it uncut and used a hacksaw to trim it to my desired length.
