Work Around

Review by Ed on 10/16/2011

Since I didn't have a pair of snap-ring pliers, I had to figure out how to insert this rather large clip into my pommel. I found that if you use a pair of channel lock pliers you can squeeze the clip just enough to get the clip in. I also used a wooden dowel to push the clip all the way down into the pommel. It is now seated perfectly tight against the pommel insert and I don't think it will ever come out. Make sure you have the exact insert you want before inserting this clip because it looks almost impossible to remove once fully seated.

this thing was pretty difficult thing to get into the saber, even with those pliers, its definately not coming out, only problem is that the insert i used makes a rattle sound, that can be fixed with a bit of glue or sealant, all the same, a necessity and of course well worth the extrra tiny amount to pay.

One thing...

Great little part, does the job well. Only advice is make sure you have a pair of snap-ring pliers. You can insert it without them, but I wouldn't want to try ;)

Hard to install

For set to pommel, I used driver(instead of chisel) and hammer. After installed, Insert is very stable.

Does the job!!!

This little piece can be a bit of a pain to install, but once it's in, the MPS insert is not going to go anywhere! Make sure that you are positive you want your chosen insert to remain in your saber, because I'm sure these are harder to get out than in!
