An absolute necessity for any pommel insert, but do yourself a favor and get some snap-ring pliers first. It'll save you a lot of frustration and hassle, and save this ring, the pommel insert, and your pommel from a bunch of unnecessary scratches.

These things are very well made but a pain in the butt to install, I was afraid to keep bending it on the off chance I broke it. But they are very resilient and sturdy.

This part is perfect. It holds the pommel insert nice and tightly. I recommend having someone help insert these. One person hold the pommel and use needle nose pliers to make the clip small. The second person uses a small screwdriver to push down the opposite side of the clip to make it pop into place (flush) for a perfect fit.

so i got parts for my saber and was thinking how i can put in my insert without a goopy nasty unclean mess... than i looked up other youtube videos of MHS sabers.. and saw this guy in them and suddenly realized... WHOA! to be honest. i would like to see this as a default add-on with the purchase of inserts (able to dis-select if not needed) and charge an extra $0.75 for it with all insert purchases. Regardless, it salved the problem nicely!... now to find a tool to easily insert and remove them with..

Holds well, need tool to install

I used this to hold Insert 12 in Pommel style 5. Holds very securely but as other have mentioned it can be tricky getting it in. I used snap ring pliers and would recommend it to anyone else trying to install this.
